ePirep As good as they say?

Well as you can see this is all about a pirep system called ePirep that is run by AVIA.

Now on first impressions this system seems very well thought out with lots of features for the Virtual Pilot and the Virtual Airline however this is only how it looks underneath there is an assortment of popup advertisements and banners littered throughout the members area and the pilot login pages now as an Airline CEO myself I have no problems with Virtual Organisations using external advertisement to try and promote some form of revenue for the organisation but you have to no when there is to much of it .

As for the rest of the system it seems to work very well with multiple ways for you to integrate the service into your website using a popup window iFrames and A plain html formatted login these are very nice if you are not to distracted by the popups and other ads on the site.

Editors Advise...... Signup try it but don't use it at least until they remove some of the ads

  • ePirep is as good as we say!

Actually ePirep is much better than we say because its true power lies behind those two clicks when you validate a pilot report. ePirep is designed to be the easiest to handle and yet the most powerful to use. Users won't notice what's going in the background they only see how simple it is.

We are very proud of what we have accomplished because ePirep had started out of nothing, and now it's become one of the best PIREP managing system out there. Through the months of hard development and with the help of our beta testers, ePirep has been extended with never before seen features, such as the fully customizable Live Roster, that can be inserted into any HTML page and displays live data directly from our database.

Our users prove that ePirep is not a "system for beginners" but it is used by professionals, who find ePirep a very useful and powerful tool to manage their virtual airline.

Unfortunately in a world where physical wealth is worth more than pride or accomplishment, dedicated freeware is becoming rare. It is, therefore, our pledge to provide a high quality pilot report management system that can fulfill the needs of any virtual airline.

The best things in life have always been free.

  • Yes I agree with your reply epirep it is a very good system I can not fault that but I can fault the shear amount of advertisments via popups and banners as being to much now as I said my origanal post I have no problem with organisations using external advertisments in there system BUT there is a limit to what you can use befor the site becomes just a mass of ads and that was the main problem with the system it IS a mass of ads if these where reduced to a more comfatable leval then and only then will I retract what I have said about epirep

    So as I said befor.......

  • As an active user of the ePirep system I can only say that ePirep is a very nice pilot environment system.

Flanders Airlines needed a decent pirep system as I can't make dynamic webpages to implant other (difficult) systems (like FSACARS). Epirep was the solution! Flanders Airlines began as beta-tester of the ePirep system and with the good dialogue between FLA and ePirep the system grew.

About the external ads ... I understand a freeware program needs those. Sometimes I had some problems with them, but with a good firewall and pop-up killer they weren't really a problem.
Our pilots had no problems at all with the pop-ups because Flanders Airlines uses the very nice iFrame and the ingenious implanted module in FS2004 to login into the pilot center and to report flights.

So, ePirep is a very good system for VA's and I'm sure the maker of ePirep will delete some of the ads!
